The West Central Trojans earned a big road win over Dell Rapids on Thursday, April 9th. The Trojans scored 13 runs in the first three innings on their way to a 15-4 win in six innings.
Sophie Rolfson got the scoring started for the Trojans in the top of first with an RBI double. Maddy Kunzweiler added an RBI single. Briauna Hoff and Brooklyn Roberts both scored on an error for an early 4-0 lead. Teagan Lupkes added an RBI double in the top of the first. Aya Kramer had an RBI single. Kramer and Robert each scored on an error later in the inning to increase the lead to 8-0.
Dell Rapids scored three times in the bottom of the second to cut the lead to 8-3. The Trojans answered with five more runs in the top of the third. Kramer had an RBI single, Hoff added an RBI sacrifice fly, and Stella Siemonsma had an RBI single. Miley Travis followed with a two-run single to make the score 13-3. Dell Rapids scored one more run in the bottom of the fourth. West Central added two runs in the top of the sixth and then held Dell Rapids scoreless in the bottom of the inning to end the game on the 10-run rule.
M. Kunzweier had three hits and two RBIs. Travis and Kramer each had two singles and two RBIs. Rofson and Lupkes both had a double and RBI. Siemonsma ended with a single and an RBI. Addy Kunzweiler had a sinigle, and Hoff ended with an RBI. Hoff pitched four innings and allowed four runs, three earned, on five hits and four walks with four strikeouts. Linzie Hoff pitched two innings walking one and striking out two.
