Trojans Rally Late, Fall to Dell Rapids 13-7

DELL RAPIDS — West Central went toe-to-toe with Dell Rapids Thursday night, October 22nd, but the Trojans came up just short in a 13-7 loss.

Dell Rapids struck first in the opening quarter when Jace Brende broke loose for a 61-yard touchdown run. Connor Jones added the extra point to give the Quarriers a 7-0 lead.

West Central’s defense settled in after the early score and kept the game within reach, but Dell Rapids added points with the kicking game. Jones drilled a 24-yard field goal in the second quarter to make it 10-0, then followed with a 25-yard field goal in the third to push the margin to 13-0.

The Trojans answered with their biggest play of the night late in the third quarter.
