Late Rally Falls Short for Trojans

The West Central Trojan softball team had their late rally fall short against Sioux Falls Christian on Tuesday, April 14th.  The Chargers held off West Central for a 6-4 win.

After two scoreless innings, Addy Kunzweiler gave the Trojans a 1-0 lead with a home run to center field.  Sioux Falls Christian took the lead with a four-run bottom of the fourth.  They added another run in the bottom of the fifth for a 5-1 lead.

Miley Travis pulled the Trojans within two runs, 5-3, with a two-run home run to left field in the top of the sixth.  The Chargers got one run back in the bottom of the sixth to make the score 6-3.  Sophie Rolfson had an RBI sacrifice fly after a triple by Kunzweiler had a tripe to start the top of the seventh, but the rally stopped there.

Rolfson had three hits, one a double, and an RBI.  Travis finished with two hits, including a home run, and two RBIs.  Kunzweiler had a home run and triple with an RBI.   Linzie Hoff had a double, and Maddy Kunzweiler had a single.

Briauna Hoff pitched three innings and allowed four earned runs on six hits and three walks and a strikeout.  L. Hoff also pitched three innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on four hits.
