West Central Softball Wins Big in First Game of Season

The West Central Trojan softball team was finally able to get on the field on Friday, April 14th.  The Trojans traveled to Lennox and opened their season with a big 17-0 win over the Orioles.

Emillee Stofferahn had an RBI double in the top of the first for an early 1-0 lead.  The Trojans added another run in the top of the second when Kaylee Olson scored on an error.  West Central then put together a big third inning scoring 11 times.  Hanna Raethz and Caitlyn Hoff hit back-to-back home runs to start the inning.  Stofferahn and Joc Nilson scored on an error.  Sophie Rolfson had an RBI single, Maddy Kunzweiler stole home, Rolfson scored on an error, Stofferahn had an RBI sacrifice fly out, Nilson had a two-run double, and then Nilson scored on a wild pitch.

The Trojans scored four more times in the top of the fourth.  Raethz had a two-run double and i Parsons scored on an error.  Hoff had an RBI bunt single as well.

West Central pounded 13 hits in the game.  Raethz had a double and a home run with three RBIs.  Hoff had two hits, one a home run, and two RBIs.  Rolfson had two hits and an RBI.  Parsons also had two singles.  Stofferahn had a double and two RBIs.  Nilson also had a double and two RBIs.  Olson, Ayla Kramer, and Kunzweiler all had a single.  Hoff pitched all four innings and allowed only one hit and one walk with eight strikeouts.
