West Central Baseball Stays Unbeaten with Win over Tri-Valley

The West Central high school baseball team improved to 4-0 after rallying for a 6-1 win over Tri-Valley at home on Tuesday, April 21st.

Tri-Valley broke a scoreless tie in the top of the third on an RBI bunt single by Treyson Richter to give Tri-Valley a 1-0 lead.  Gunnar Alfson tied the game in the bottom of the fourth with a solo home run to center field.  Ashton Gebhard had an RBI single later in the inning, and Eli Koehn had an RBI ground out to put West Central ahead 3-1.  They added three more runs in the bottom of the sixth.  Nick Lorang and Koehn both had RBI singles, and Taten Van Overbeke added an RBI ground out.

Alfson had two hits, one a home run, and an RBI.  Koehn ended with a single and two RBIs.  Lorang and Gebhard both had a single with an RBI.  JT Steckley added an hit, and Van Overbeke ended with an RBI.  Alfson pitched four innings and only allowed one walk and struck out nine batters.  Beckett Everson pitched three innings and allowed one earned run on four hits and four walks with four strikeouts.
