The West Central high school baseball team earned a slim 3-1 win over Sioux Falls Christian on Wednesday, April 15th in Sioux Falls. The win moved West Central to 3-0 on the year.
Neither team scored in the first two innings of the game. Gunnar Alfson drove home the first run of the game on a double in the top of the third inning. The score remained 1-0 until the top of the sixth. Zach Lorang had an RBI single, and Nick Lorang scored on an error to give West Central a 3-0 advantage. Sioux Falls Christian got one run in the bottom of the sixth. The Chargers only got one runner on base in the bottom of the seventh.
Alfson finished with a double and an RBI. Z. Lorang had a single with an RBI. CJ Den Boer and JT Steckley both had one hit each. Alfson pitched four innings and allowed two hits and two walks with seven strikeouts. Beckett Everson threw three innings and allowed an earned run on two hits and one strikeout.
