Mustang Softball Cruises Past Chester

The Tri-Valley Mustang softball team improved to 5-0 with a 12-1 win over the Chester Flyers at home on Monday, April 13th.

Chester took an early lead with a run in the top of the first.  Kadence Davey scored on a passed ball, and Ava Christensen had an RBI single in the bottom of the first to put Tri-Valley ahead 2-1.  Emry Jones and Christensen both scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the third.  Davey had a three-run double to extend the lead to 7-1.

Christensen smacked a two-run home run to left field in the bottom of the fourth for a 9-1 score.  Davey would score on a passed ball in the bottom of the fifth.  Haleigh Wallenstein ended the game on the 10-run rule with an RBI double.

Jones had three hits in the game.  Christensen ended with a home run and single with three RBIs.  Davey added two doubles and three RBIs.  Wallensstein had a double with two RBIs.  Hailey Sorenson also had a double.  Syenna Halverson and Tyler Gibson both had a hit.  Jones pitched five innings and allowed an unearned run on three walks with 11 strikeouts.
