Two Big Innings Early Send Tri-Valley Softball to Win over Baltic

The Tri-Valley Mustang softball team scored 14 of their 16 runs in the first two innings to help them to a 16-3 win over the Baltic Bulldogs at home on Tuesday, May 12th.

The Mustangs put nine runs on the board in the bottom of the first inning.  Haleigh Wallenstein, Emry Jones, and Ava Christensen all had RBI doubles right in a row.  Elisabeth Miller and Isabella Wetmore-Ocampo had RBI singles.  Kadence Davey and Mattie Huwe also had RBI doubles in the inning.  Tri-Valley added five more runs in the bottom of the second.  Davey had a home run and Wellenstein added another RBI hit.  Baltic scored three times in the top of the fourth inning to make the score 14-3.  The Mustangs would get two more runs in the bottom of the fourth, and then the game ended on the 10-run rule after the top of the fifth inning.

Davey had three hits, including a home run and double,with four RBIs.  Jones finished with two doubles and two RBIs.  Wallenstein had two hits, one a double, and two RBIs.  Huwe added a single and double with an RBI.  Wetmore-Ocampo had two singles with an RBI.  Christensen had a double and an RBI.  Elisabeth Miller finished with a single and an RBI.  Syenna Halverson, Hailey Sorenson, and Peyton Vogt all had a single.

Davey pitched all five innings and allowed three earned runs on three hits and two walks with six strikeouts.
