Mustang Softball Wins Two in Freeman

The Tri-Valley Mustang softball team picked up two more wins on Tuesday, May 19th.  They defeated Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy and Centerville in Freeman.

The Mustangs belted out 19 hits and scored in every inning of the three-inning win over the Phoenix.  Tri-Valley put six runs on the board right away in the top of the first inning.  The Phoenix scored one run in the bottom of the first for a 6-1 score.  Tri-Valley added six more runs in the second and seven in the third to lead 19-1.  The Phoenix scored one more time in the bottom of the third before the game ended on the 15-run rule.

Peyton Vogt had three hits, one a triple, and four RBIs.  Hailey Sorenson added three singles with three RBIs.  Isabella Wetmore-Ocampo also had three hits, one a double, and an RBI.  Emry Jones added a single and double with two RBIs.  Syenna Halverson had two singles and two RBIs.  Kadence Davey ended with two hits, one a double, and an RBI.  Ava Christensen also had two hits with an RBI.  Rowyn Gacke had a single and an RBI, and Mattie Huwe also had a hit.  Jones pitched all three innings and allowed two earned runs on three hits and two walks with eight strikeouts.

Tri-Valley 16, Centerville 0

Gacke and Davey combined to allow just one hit as Tri-Valley shut out Centerville 16-0.  The Mustangs again scored in every inning of the game.  They scored two runs in each of the first two innings for a 4-0 lead.  The Mustangs then had a seven-run top of the third to extend the lead to 11-0.  Three more runs scored in the top of the forth.  They would get two more in the top of the fifth.  The game ended on the 10-run rule after the bottom of the fifth inning.

Brinley Hansen had three hits, including two doubles, and two RBIs.  Haleigh Wallenstein also had three hits, including a double, and two RBIs.  Tyler Gibson had two singles with an RBI.  Halverson ended with two hits.  Vogt added a single and an RBI.  Huwe also had one hit.  Christensen and Brylie Dibvig each had one RBI.

Gacke pitched four innings and allowed a hit and four walks with six strikeouts.  Davey pitched one inning and struck out all three batters.
