Titans Pull Away from Quarrier Girls for Win

The Dell Rapids Quarriers (3-15) held a lead through the first part of the opening quarter, but the Mt Vernon/Plankinton Titans pulled away throughout the game for a 74-43 victory on Tuesday, February 7th.

Jenna Miller made a three with about 3:45 to play in the first quarter to give Dell Rapids a 12-8 lead.  The Titans ended the quarter on a 13-2 run for a 21-14 lead.  The momentum carried into the rest of the game for Mt Vernon/Plankinton the Titans ended the first half leading 47-24.  The lead grew to 63-33 by the end of the third quarter.

Dell Rapids shot 31% (15-48) from the field overall, 27% (7-26) on three-point shots, and 6-7 from the free-throw line.  The Titans shot 52% (28-54) overall, 29% (4-14) from three-point area, and 14-15 from the free-throw line.

Claire Wynja had 13 points, two rebounds, and two assists.  Miller had seven points and two assists.  Kerrigan Kindopp added six points, three rebounds, and two assists.  Elly Olson also had six points.  Liz Price had four points and four rebounds.

JV Results – Coach Huska Update

The Quarrier JV basketball team played three quarters of good solid basketball before Mt Vernon/Plankinton’s pressure finally got to them as the young Quarriers fell 25-47.

Peyton Hohn had six points and four blocked shots.  Mya DeStigter also had six points with two steals.  Keilah Kremer finished with four points and five rebounds.  Adah Cavigielli had three points.  Alaina Wolff ended with two points and two steals.  Shelby Welbig had two points and three rebounds, and Taylor Schmidt also had two points.
