Shorted-Handed Quarrier Girls Fall to Clark/Willow Lake

The Dell Rapids Quarrier girls played short-handed at the Dak-12/NEC Clash in Madison on Saturday, February 3rd.  Dressing just eight varsity players, the Quarriers fell to the Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones 46-32.

The Cyclones took advantage of a slow start by Dell Rapids in the first half.  Clark/Willow Lake held a 16-4 lead at the end of the first quarter.  They extended that lead to 28-8 by halftime.  Dell Rapids found their offense in the second half, but the deficit was too big to overcome.  The Quarriers trailed 36-19 after the third quarter.  They did outscore the Cyclones 24-18 in the second half.

Rorie Thoreson finished with 16 points to lead all scorers in the game.  Jersi Schultz added five points.  Shelby Welbig had three points, and Clara Justice added two points for Dell Rapids.
