The Flandreau Fliers used a big third quarter as they pulled away from the Dell Rapids Quarriers in a 61-42 win on Thursday, December 29th.
Flandreau started the game on a 10-0 run and led 20-8 at the end of the first quarter. The Quarriers got the offense going in the second quarter and pulled within seven points, 33-26, with 1:00 to play in the first half. The Fliers led 35-27 at halftime. Flandreau, however, held Dell Rapids to just four points in the third quarter and extended their lead to 53-31.
Dell Rapids finished the game shooting 34% (16-47) from the field, 29% (5-17) from three-point area, and 38% (5-13) from the free-throw line. Flandreau shot 45% (26-58) overall, 27% (4-15) from three-point area, and 29% (5-17) from the free-throw line. The Fliers out-rebounded Dell Rapids 45-20 in the game.
Claire Wynja had 11 points and four rebounds. Jenna Miller finished with 10 points, four rebounds, three steals, and three assists. Liz Prize added nine points and four rebounds. Clara Justice had four points and five rebounds. Elly Olson also had four points along with three assists. Kerrigan Kindopp had three points.
