The Dell Rapids Quarrier girls ran their winning streak to five games with a 56-16 win over the Baltic Bulldogs on Monday, February 2nd.
Baltic scored the first point of the game from the free-throw line, but Dell Rapids then went on a 17-0 run. The Bulldogs scored the final three points of the quarter, and the Quarriers led 17-4. Dell Rapids kept things going in the second quarter. The defense held Baltic to just two points, and the lead grew to 33-6 by halftime. The Quarrier defense would hold the Bulldogs to just 10 points in the second half.
Dell Rapids was 46% (22-48) shooting overall, 27% (4-15) no three-point shots, and 47% (8-17) from the free-throw line. Baltic finished the game shooting 17% (6-36) from the field overall, 15% (2-13) from three-point area, and 2-6 from the free-throw line.
Rorie Thoreson had 14 points, five steals, and four assists. Kassidee Stykel added 10 points and five rebounds. Jersi Schultz finished with eight points, eight rebounds, and five steals. Elin Schoenhard also had eight points with five rebounds. Claire Witte ended with six points, three rebounds, and three steals.
