Gamecocks Tie, Then Walk-off Against Blue Teal

The Hartford-Humboldt Gamecocks rallied to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth and then scored a run in the bottom of the tenth to earn a walk-off win over the Flandreau Blue Teal at home on Sunday, June 14th.

The Gamecocks took the lead early in the game.  Adam Hentges scored on a steal of home in the bottom of the second for a 1-0 lead.  Broc Haldeman had an RBI single in the bottom of the second to increase the lead to 2-0.  Flandreau got a run in the top of the fourth to cut the lead in half, 2-1.  The Blue Teal took the lead in the top of the sixth, 3-2, on a two-run home run.

The score remained 3-2 until the bottom of the ninth inning.  Matt Thorson had an RBI ground out, scoring Devon Garry, to tie the game 3-3.  The Gamecocks held the Blue Teal scoreless in the top of the tenth.  With one out Tyler Migliante drove home the game-winning run for the Gamecocks.

Hunter DenBoer finished with three hits, one a double.  Jonah Rechtenbaugh and Noah Vettrus both had two hits each.  Haldeman and Migliante each had a single and an RBI.  Cam Quigley and Garry each had a single.  Thorson finished with an RBI.

Landry Knight pitched five innings and allowed three earned runs on three hits and five walks with eight strikeouts.  Braylon Bear pitched three innings and allowed two hits and two walks with five strikeouts.  Drew Talberg tossed an inning and gave up just one walk.  Rechtenbaugh also pitched an inning walking one and striking out two.
