The West Central Royal 14U baseball team had back-to-back road games on Tuesday, June 25th and Wednesday, June 26th. West Central lost their game at Hills-Beaver Creek on Tuesday but earned a win in Dell Rapids on Wednesday.
Hills-Beaver Creek 17, West Central Royal 2
Hills-Beaver Creek scored 11 times in the bottom of the first inning for a big lead to start the game. Neither team scored in the second inning. West Central got two runs in the top of the third, but Hills-Beaver Creek scored six more times in the bottom of the third to end the game on the 15-run rule.
E Koehn had a double and an RBI. Noah E and K Arends both had a single in the game.
West Central Royal 11, Dell Rapids Red 10
West Central held off a rally by Dell Rapids to earn the win on Wednesday. They started the game with four runs in the top of the first and two in the second for a 6-0 lead. Dell Rapids scored four times in the bottom of the fifth to make the score 6-4. West Central scored five times in the top of the seventh for an 11-4 lead, and they needed every one of those runs. Dell Rapids rallied for six runs in the bottom of the seventh and had the bases loaded with two outs. A fly out to first base ended the game.
Noah E had three hits, one a double, and two RBIs. Taylan S had three hits and an RBI. Carson E finished with two singles and an RBI. Koehn added a double and an RBI. Aiden L and Cooper B both had a single and an RBI. Chase S finished with an RBI as well.
