The West Central 14U team outhit Volga Navy 3-2, but Volga took advantage of seven errors and seven walks in a 12-1 win on Wednesday, July 1st.
Volga opened the game with a five-run top of the first inning. Quincey Petersen scored on an error in the bottom of the first inning as West Central’s only run. Volga added two more runs in the fourth, three in the fifth, and two in the top of the sixth.
Petersen, Kaelor Houseman, and Ashton Brenner all had one hit each in the game. Cameron Heying pitched three innings and allowed five runs, all unearned, on four walks with five strikeouts. Machivelli Lipsey pitched an inning and allowed four runs, three earned, on three walks and three strikeouts. Petersen tossed two innings and allowed three runs, just one earned, on two hits with one strikeout.
