The West Central Trojan boys and girls wrestling teams took part in the Dak-12 Conference Tournament in Madison on Saturday, January 20th. The boys team finished second as a team with 191.5 points. The girls team finished fourth with 48 points.
Boys Results
Karson Vessells won the 126-pound weight class with a 3-0 record. Orlando Whiting took the top spot in the 132-pound division with a 3-0 record. Chandler Carda won the 165-pound class with a 3-0 record. Gabe Gebhard had a first place finish in the 190-pound division with a 3-0 record. Chet Carda also won the 215-pound class with a 3-0 record. Kaden Haakinson took second in the 106-pound class wiht a 2-1 record. Gavin Pischke was second in the 285-pound class with a 2-1 record.
Alex Siemonsma (113) was fourth with a 2-2 record. Hayden Whiting (144) also placed fourth with a 2-2 record. Keaton Vessells (157) and Cain Grocott (175) had one win each. Jesse Jost (138), Andrew Holtzman (150), and Braxton Huber (165) also took part in the tournament.
Girls Results
Hailey Fortney had a first place finish with three wins. Kyliegh Schuller and Allison Foote both had second place finishes. Schuller had three wins, and Foote had one win. Leah Schuller finished third with one win. Ayva Gronewold took fifth with one win. Kiera Emerson also placed fifth.
