The West Central Trojan (5-0) softball team continued their impressive 2023 season with another shutout victory on Thursday, April 27th. West Central traveled to Tea and defeated the Titans 7-0. The Trojans have yet to allow a run this season.
Caitlyn Hoff got the Trojans on the board with an RBI single in the top of the first. Emillee Stofferahn followed with an RBI single as well. Joc Nilson brought home two on a single to right field for an early 4-0 lead. Hoff added an RBI single in the top of the second, and Nilson had an RBI groundout to push the lead to 6-0. The final run for West Central came in the top of the fourth on an inside-the-park home run by Stofferahn.
Nilson finished with two singles and three RBIs. Stofferahn had two hits, a home run and single, with two RBIs. Hoff added two singles and two RBIs. Izzi Parsons had two hits, one of them a double. Kaylee Olson finished with two singles, and Sophie Rolfson had a single. Hoff pitched all seven innings allowing just four hits and two walks while striking out 14 batters.
The Trojans will face Dell Rapids on Saturday, April 29th in a battle of undefeated teams.
