Trojan Baseball Blanks Tri-Valley

The West Central Trojan high school club baseball team blanked Tri-Valley 8-0 on Thursday, May 4th.

The two teams remained locked in a scoreless battle for three innings.  West Central got their first run in the top of the fourth inning.  Brayden Odegaard scored on a passed ball for an early 1-0 lead.  The score remained 1-0 until the top of the sixth.  Will Nester had an RBI single, and Brody Jacobson had an RBI sacrifice fly for a 3-0 lead.  The big inning came in the top of the seventh.  Nester had an RBI sacrifice fly, Xzavian Ferris scored on a wild pitch, Caden Alfson scored on an error, and Owen Heath had a two-run triple.

Tri-Valley was held to just one hit in the game.  Nathan Madison had a single.  Kaden Egger pitched 5 2/3 innings for Tri-Valley allowing three runs, two earned, on four hits and four walks with six strikeouts.  Brody Dybvig pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed five runs, two earned, on three hits and two walks with two strikeouts.

Heath had a triple and two RBIs for West Central.  Nester finished with a hit and two RBIs.  Brodie Herr finished with two hits.  Deuce Sherard had a triple.  Alfson and Keaton Vessells both had a single.  Jacobson ended with an RBI.  Odegaard pitched 4 2/3 innings and did not allow a hit with two walks and five strikeouts.  Herr pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed just one hit with five strikeouts.
