Tri-Valley Falls to Baltic after Late Inning Runs

Baltic used a three-run bottom of the fifth to give them a 4-1 win over Tri-Valley on Saturday, May 6th in Baltic.

Baltic scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the first.  Gunner Schultz had an RBI double for a 1-0 lead.  Tri-Valley tied the game in the top of the third.  Brody Dybvig grounded into a fielder’s choice that scored Everett Althoff.  The score remained tied 1-1 until the bottom of the fifth.  G. Schultz broke the tie with an RBI ground out.  Jose Valadez added an RBI single later in the inning, and Beau Keith had an RBI double to give Baltic a 4-1 lead.

Tyler Groenewold had two hits for Tri-Valley.  Althoff, Carter Sorenson, and Nathan Madison all had one single each.  Dybvig had the lone RBI.  Groenewold pitched six innings and allowed four runs, but just one earned, on six hits and a walk with seven strikeouts.

Valadez finished with two hits and an RBI for Baltic.  G. Schultz had a double and two RBIs.  Keith had a double and an RBI.  J Goehring also had a double.  Riley Schultz finished with a single.  Tayden Hansen pitched seven innings and allowed an unearned run on five hits and two walks with 11 strikeouts.
