Late Runs Secures Win for West Central over Tri-Valley in Baseball Action

The West Central high school baseball team scored three runs in the top of the seventh to secure an 8-3 win over Tri-Valley in Colton on Monday, May 11th.

West Central also scored the first three runs of the game.  They got a run in the top of the first and two more in the top of the second.  Parker Hemme had an RBI single in the bottom of the second to make the score 3-1.  Cole Hendrixson scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the third to cut the lead to 3-2.

West Central added two more runs in the top of the fourth inning to extend the lead back to three runs, 5-2.  Hemme would score on a wild pitch in the bottom of the fourth to cut the lead to 5-3.  The score remained 5-3 until the top of the seventh.  West Central then scored three more runs.

Hemme had a single and an RBI.  Cooper Durick had the only other hit for Tri-Valley.  Reed Smith pitched five innings and allowed five runs, three earned, on eight hits and three walks with four strikeouts.  Durick pitched two innings and allowed three runs, two earned, on four hits and two walks with a strikeout.
