Rally Falls Short for Tri-Valley Baseball Against Dell Rapids

A rally in the middle innings fell short for the Tri-Valley high school baseball team as they fell 15-11 to Dell Rapids in Sioux Falls on Sunday, May 3rd.

Dell Rapids got rolling early scoring six times in the top of the first inning.  They added three more in the second to build a 9-0 lead.  Tri-Valley scored three times in the bottom of the third.  Each team would score two times in the fourth inning, and Dell Rapids led 11-5 after four innings of play.

Another run came home for Dell Rapids in the top of the fifth to make the score 12-5.  Tri-Valley would rally for six runs in the bottom of the fifth to pull within one, 12-11.  Dell Rapids, however, would score two runs in the sixth and add another in the seventh to pull away 15-11.

Mason Hemme finished with a single and triple with three RBIs.  Tristen Bunde had two hits and two RBIs.  Gage Egger ended with two hits.  Cooper Durick had a triple with two RBIs.  Lawson Schneiderman added a single and two RBIs.  Brody Dybvig and Jackson Williams each had a hit and an RBI.  Parker Hemme also had a hit.

Bunde pitched one inning and allowed six runs, two earned, on three hits and two walks with a strikeout.  Dybvig pitched one inning and allowed three earned runs on three hits and a walk.  Reed Smith tossed five innings and allowed six runs, two earned, on two hits and nine walks with six strikeouts.
