Tri-Valley Baseball Splits Pair of Weekend Games

The Tri-Valley high school club baseball played two games over the weekend of Saturday, April 29th and Sunday, April 30th.  Tri-Valley dropped a defensive battle in Lennox on Saturday, and the had a big win at home against Garretson on Sunday.

Lennox 3, Tri-Valley 1

Lennox got on the board first with a run in the bottom of the second inning.  The score stayed 1-0 until the top of the fifth.  Brody Dybvig had an RBI single scoring Everett Althoff to tie the game 1-1.  Lennox, however, broke the tie with two runs in the bottom of the sixth and earned the win.

Dybvig had two hits and an RBI.  Kaden Egger finished with two singles.  Althoff and Hunter Foster each had a double.  Noah Haynes, Carter Sorenson, and Nathan Madison all had a single.  Landon Schenkel pitched six innings and allowed three earned runs on five hits and five walks with seven strikeouts.

Tri-Valley 15, Garretson 3

In Sunday’s game Tri-Valley used two big innings to build a big lead.  Tri-Valley scored two runs in the bottom of the first, but they broke the game open in the bottom of the third.  Eight runs came across home plate for Tri-Valley for a 10-0 lead.  Garretson scored one time in the top of the fourth, but Tri-Valley added five more runs in their half of the inning.  The final two runs for Garretson were scored in the top of the fifth.

Althoff had four hits, one of those a triple, and three RBIs.  Cody Lofswold had a single and two RBIs.  Hanyes, Sorenson, Egger, Lawson Louiseu, and Ledger Burggraff all had a single and an RBI.  Dybvig finished with two RBIs.  Sorenson pitched four innings and allowed one earned run on two hits and a walk with three strikeouts.  Tristen Bunde pitched an innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on a hit and three walks with one strikeout.
