Six-Run Inning Lifts Tri-Valley Baseball to Win

The Tri-Valley high school club baseball team used a six-run inning to give them a 6-4 win over Sioux Falls Christian on Thursday, April 27th.

Sioux Falls Christian broke a 0-0 tie in the top of the second with a run.  They added another run in the top of the third for a 2-0 lead.  Another two runs were scored in the top of the fourth giving Sioux Falls Christian a 4-0 lead.  That’s when Tri-Valley put together a big inning.

Everett Althoff brought home the first run with a double.  Kaden Egger reached on an error that scored a run.  Noah Haynes added an RBI groundout to cut the lead to 4-3.  Carter Sorenson gave Tri-Valley the lead with a two-run single.  Tyler Groenewald scored on a wild pitch, and at the end of the fourth, Tri-Valley led 6-4.  They were able to hold the lead the rest of the game for the win.

Sorenson had a single and two RBIs.  Althoff finished with a double and an RBI.  Haynes ended with a single and an RBI.  Brody Dybvig and lawson Louiseu both had a hit in the game.  Egger ended with an RBI.  Groenewold pitched 6 1/3 innings allowing four runs, three earned, on six hits and two walks with seven strikeouts.  Egger pitched 2/3 of an inning allowing a hit and walk while striking out one batter.
