Tri-Valley Baseball Beats Hanson in Extra Innings

Tri-Valley scored two times in the top of the eighth inning to beat Hanson 3-2 in a pitcher’s duel on Monday, April 29th.

The first three innings of the game were scoreless.  Nathan Madison had an RBI single in the top of the fourth to break the scoreless tie.  Hanson tied the game with a run in the bottom of the fifth.  Tri-Valley was able to get a runner to second in the top of the seventh, but was unable to score.  The defense was able to record a double play to cover an error in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings.

With one out in the top of the eighth, Tri-Valley drew back-to-back walks.  Ryan Lehman then hit a single to load the bases.  Madison brought home two runs with a double for a 3-1 lead.  Hanson put together a rally with two outs in the bottom of the eighth.  They put runners on second and third after a single and double.  The next batter hit an RBI single to left scoring one.  Brechen Frederick was able to fire a throw home to beat the tying run for the third out of the inning and end the game.

Madison had three hits, including a double, and three RBIs.  Alex Wingen added two hits.  Treyson Richter, Carter Sorenson, and Lehman all had one hit each.  Tristen Bunde pitched 6 1/3 innings and allowed a run, which was unearned, on three hits and three walks with six strikeouts.  Sorenson pitched 1 2/3 innings and allowed an earned run on three hits.
