Mustangs Score Seven Runs in Fifth Inning for Win over Beresford

The Tri-Valley Mustangs scored seven runs in the top of the fifth inning to lead them to a 12-1 win over the Beresford Watchdogs in Sioux Falls on Monday, April 29th.

After a scoreless first inning, Emery Pearson had an RBI double in the top of the second.  The Mustangs added three more runs in the top of the third.  Ava Christensen had an RBI single, and Keagan Kuchta brought home two with a single for a 4-0 lead.  The Watchdogs scored one run in the bottom of the third to make the score 4-1.  Reese Wilt had an RBI sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth to push the lead to 5-1.  Tri-Valley then had their big seven-run inning in the fifth.  Emry Jones and Kadence Davey each had an RBI.  Izzy Davey had a two-run triple in the inning.

I. Davey had three hits, including a triple, and two RBIs.  K. Davey had two hits, one a home run, and three RBIs.  Kuchta finished with two hits and three RBIs.  Jones had a home run and an RBI.  Pearson added a double and an RBI.  Wilt and Christensen both had a single and an RBI.  Syenna Bird had a double.  Jones pitched five innings and allowed one earned run on two hits and a walk with six strikeouts.
