Mustang Softball Finishes 1-1 at Dak-12 Tounament

The Tri-Valley Mustangs played two games in the single-elimination Dak-12 Conference Tournament in Sioux Falls on Monday, April 22nd.  The Mustangs finished 1-1 in their two games.

Tri-Valley 7, Sioux Falls Christian 0

Emry Jones held the Chargers to just three hits in seven innings while walking just one batter and striking out 15.  The offense helped Jones by scoring two runs in the bottom of the first and another in the bottom of the second inning for a 3-0 lead.  Tri-Valley added three more runs in the bottom of the fifth and another in the sixth.

Jones also had two hits and an RBI.  Izzy Davey belted a home run and had three RBIs. Reagan Pearson, Keagan Kuchta, and Ava Christensen added a single and an RBI.  Reese Wilt, Syenna Bird, and Emery Pearson each had a double.

Dell Rapids 19, Tri-Valley 4

Tri-Valley opened the game with a bang scoring four runs in the top of the first inning.  Jones had an RBI single, E. Pearson had a two-run double, and Wilt had an RBI single to give the Mustangs a 4-0 lead.  Dell Rapids, however, responded with 10 runs in the bottom of the first.  The Quarriers added nine runs in the bottom of the third to end the game on the 15-run rule.

E. Pearson had a double and two RBIs.  Jones and Wilt both had a single and an RBI.  Kadence Davey and Bird also had a single each in the game.  I. Davey pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed 13 runs, six earned, on six hits and seven walks with two strikeouts.  Jones pitched 1/3 of an inning and allowed six earned runs on six hits and a walk with one strikeout.
