Tri-Valley 17U Takes Two over Elk Point-Jefferson

The Tri-Valley 17U baseball team won both games of a double-header at home against Elk Point-Jefferson on Monday, June 29th.

Tri-Valley 8, Elk Point-Jefferson 0

Tri-Valley scored in every inning as they slowly added to their lead throughout the game for an 8-0 win.  They scored three times right away in the bottom of the first. Tri-Valley would score single runs in the second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth innings.

Lawson Schneiderman had two hits and an RBI.  Cooper Durick had two hits, including a double.  Abbott Moeller had two singles.  Will Winter added a double and an RBI.  Parker Atwood, Gerrit Koopman, and Evan Focken all had a hit and an RBI.  Dante Nehman added a triple.  Focken also pitched six innings and allowed five hits and three walks with six strikeouts.

Tri-Valley 5, Elk Point-Jefferson 4

Elk Point-Jefferson scored the first two runs of the second game in the top of the first inning.  Tri-Valley took the lead, 3-2, with a three-run bottom of the third.  Elk Point-Jefferson tie the game, 3-3, with a run in the top of the fourth.  Tri-Valley took the lead for good, 5-3, with two runs in the fifth.  Elk Point-Jefferson got their final run in the top of the sixth.

Atwood had a single with two RBIs.  Durick added a triple and an RBI.  Nehman also had a hit with an RBI.  Winter and Reed Smith both had one hit each.  Winter pitched four innings and allowed three runs, two earned, on four hits and five walks with five strikeouts.  Smith tossed two innings and allowed an unearned run on a hit and two walks with two strikeouts.
