The Tri-Valley high school baseball team won both games of a double-header over McCook Central held in Sioux Falls on Sunday, April 19th.
Tri-Valley 12, McCook Central 6
After a scoreless first inning, Tri-Valley picked up two runs in the bottom of the second. They added four more in the bottom of the third and three in fourth for a 9-0 lead. McCook Central scored four times in the top of the fifth and one more in the sixth to cut the lead down to 9-5. Tri-Valley got three more runs in the bottom of the sixth to extend the lead to 12-5. McCook Central scored one more time in the top of the seventh.
Parker Hemme ended with two hits, one a triple, and an RBI. Brody Dybvig and Denton Bicknase both had a double and two RBIs each. Treyson Richter had a single and an RBI. Cooper Durick, Jackson Williams, and Lawson Schneiderman all had one hit each. Gage Egger ended with an RBI. Dybvig pitched 4 1/3 innings and allowed four earned runs on four hits and three walks with seven strikeouts. Schneiderman threw 2 2/3 innnigs and allowed two runs, one earned, on three hits and four walks with four strikeouts.
Tri-Valley 6, McCook Central 2
Another fast start helped Tri-Valley in the second game. They scored three runs in the top of the first. McCook Central got one run in the bottom of the first. Tri-Valley got the run back in the top of the second for a 4-1 score. McCook Central scored their other run of the game in the bottom of the fourth. Tri-Valley added two more in the top of the fifth.
Durick had two hits and an RBI. Dybvig and Williams both had two hits each. Bicknase finished with a single and two RBIs. Egger added a single and an RBI. Richter ended with one hit. Bicknase pitched 6 1/3 innings and allowed two runs, both unearned, on three hits and two walks with 10 strikeouts. Reed Smith pitched 2/3 of an inning without allowed a hit or walk.
