Tri-Valley Cruises Past Garretson in Baseball Action

The Tri-Valley high school baseball team cruised to an 18-3 in five innings in Garretson on Thursday, April 16th.

They used to big innings in the victory.  The first one coming right away in the top of the first.  Tri-Valley scored eight times highlighted by a two-run double by Cooper Durick and RBI singles from Brody Dybvig and Mason Hemme.  Garretson picked up one run in the bottom of the first.  After a scoreless second inning, Cole Hendrixson scored on an error, Durick had an RBI triple, and Parker Hemme had an RBI sacrifice fly to push the lead to 11-1.

Tri-Valley extended the lead to 13-1 after two runs scored on an error in the top of the fourth.  Five more runs came home in the top of the fifth.  Tristen Bunde had an RBI single, and Dybvig drove home three with a triple.  Garretson scored twice in the bottom of the fifth, but the game ended on the 10-run rule.

Durick had two hits, a triple and double, with four RBIs.  Dybvig drove home a total of seven runs on two hits, one of them a triple.  Bunde had two hits and two RBIs.  Hendrixson added a single and an RBI.  M. Hemme also had a hit and an RBI.  Treyson Richter had a single, and P. Hemme had an RBI.

Dybvig pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed an earned run on two hits and four walks with four strikeouts.  Denton Bicknase also pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed two earned runs on two hits and three walks with five strikeouts.  Lawson Schneiderman tossed 1/3 of an inning and allowed a hit and two walks.
