Mustang Softball Pulls Away from Vermillion

The Tri-Valley Mustang softball team pulled away from the Vermillion Tanagers in a 14-3 home win on Friday, April 25th.

The Tanagers scored the first run of the game in the top of the first inning.  Tri-Valley answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning for a 3-1 lead.  Neither team scored in the second inning.  Vermillion got another run in the top of the third to cut the lead to 3-2.  That’s when the Mustang offense took control.

Tri-Valley scored four times in the bottom of the third to make the score 7-2.  They added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth to go ahead 9-2.  Vermillion scored one time in the top of the fifth making the score 9-3.  The Mustangs then ended the game on the 10-run rule with five runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Emry Jones had two hits, one a home run, and three RBIs.  Syenna Halverson also had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs.  Izzy Davey had a single and double with two RBIs.  Hailey Sorenson ended with two singes and an RBI.  Emery Pearson had a single with two RBIs.  Keagan Kuchta also had an RBI.

Jones pitched four innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on a hit and three walks with seven strikeouts.  Kadence Davey pitched one inning and allowed an unearned run on a hit and two walks with two strikeouts.
