Tri-Valley Softball Suffers First Loss of Season

The Tri-Valley Mustang softball team suffered their first loss of the season on Tuesday, April 22nd.  The Mustangs fell to the visiting West Central Trojans 13-5.

The Trojans put the pressure on the Mustangs early. West Central scored three runs in the first inning and added three more in the second for a 6-0 lead.  They would score a single run in the fourth and another in the fifth to extend the lead to 8-0.  Tri-Valley was able to get on the board with a run in the bottom of the fifth.

Both offenses had a big inning in the sixth.  West Central started the inning with four runs to make the score 12-1.  Tri-Valley responded with three in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead to 12-4.  Each team would score a run in the seventh inning.

Izzy Davey had two hits with an RBI.  Emry Jones also had two hits, including a double.  Ava Christensen had a home run with two RBIs.  Kadence Davey added a triple and an RBI.  Emery Pearson had a double, and Mattie Huwe had a single.  Jones pitched four innings and allowed eight runs, but just two earned, on nine hits and a walk with three strikeouts.  I. Davey pitched there innings and allowed five runs, one earned, on six hits with one strikeout.
