The Dell Rapids Phils outhit Luverne on Tuesday, July 7th, but Luverne had the advantage in the runs category and took the win 9-4.
Gauge Bunkers drove home a run with a single in the top of the first for a 1-0 lead. Luverne, however, had a five-run bottom of the first for a 5-1 lead. They added four more runs in the bottom of the third to extend their lead to 9-1. Tommy LaVoy scored on an error in the top of the fifth for Dell Rapids. LaVoy drew a bases-loaded walk in the top of the sixth, and AJ Brandenburg had an RBI single to make the score 9-4, but Dell Rapids was unable to get any closer.
AJ Brandenburg had three hits and an RBI. Jake Heinitz added two singles. Bunkers finished with a single and an RBI. Ryan Brandenburg and Caiden Borns both had one hit. LaVoy ended with an RBI.
