The Dell Rapids Mudcats won their second straight game with a 10-5 win over the Canova Gang at home on Tuesday, June 30th.
The Gang got a run in the top of the first inning, but their lead would not last long. The Mudcats scored three times in the bottom of the third and two more in the second for a 5-1 lead. The Gang scored another run in the top of the second, but Dell Rapids put two more runs on the board to extend the lead to 7-2.
After a scoreless fourth inning, the Gang scored another run in the top of the fifth. The Mudcats responded with three more runs in the bottom of the inning. Canova got two runs in the top of the sixth for their final runs of the game.
Cater Gullickson had a triple and double with three RBIs. Austin Henry had two hits and two RBIs. Kason Syverson and Nolan Burchill both had two singles and an RBI. Billy Stitz also had two hits. Ty Hoglund had a single with two RBIs. Jake Goble added a double and an RBI. Gauge Bunkers also had a hit.
Henry pitched five innings and allowed three earned runs on four hits and four walks with seven strikeouts. Goble pitched two innings and allowed two earned runs on three hits with a walk and one strikeout.
