The Colton legion team rallied past the Dell Rapids Phils in Dell Rapids for an 11-4 victory on Tuesday, June 16th.
Gauge Bunkers had an RBI single in the bottom of the first. Haiden Kaffar drew a bases-loaded walk, and Knox Cuny had an RBI single to put the Phils in front 3-0 in the first inning. Colton picked up a run in the top of the second and added six more runs in the top of the third for a 7-3 lead. They scored four more times in the top of the sixth to extend the lead to 11-3. Connor Hanson scored on an error in the bottom of the sixth.
AJ Brandenburg had three hits, one a double. Bunkers finished with two hits, including a double, and an RBI. Hanson ended with two singles. Cuny had a single and an RBI. Caiden Borns had a double, and Ryan Brandenburg had a single. Kaffar ended with an RBI.
Hanson pitched 2 2/3 innings and allowed seven runs, six earned, on five hits and three walks with four strikeouts. Owen Bollock pitched 3 1/3 innings and allowed four runs, three earned, on three hits and six walks with two strikeouts. Rhett Thoreson tossed one inning without a hit or walk.
