Lennox Defense Smothers Quarriers

The Lennox Oriole defense smothered the Dell Rapids Quarriers (14-5) all game long.  The Orioles gave the Quarriers their third straight loss on Friday, February 17th in a 59-40 victory.

Dell Rapids had a good first quarter and led 18-14 at the break.  From that point in the game, Dell Rapids struggled to get their offense going.  The Quarriers scored the first three points of the second quarter and led 21-14 with 7:25 in the half, but Lennox outscored Dell Rapids 13-3 the rest of the quarter for a 27-24 halftime lead.  The Orioles then held a 21-13 scoring difference in the third quarter, and Lennox led 48-37 going into the fourth quarter.   Dell Rapids only had three points in the final quarter.

The Quarriers shot 37% (18-49) overall, but just 3-17 on three-point attempts, and 1-2 from the free-throw line.  Lennox shot 47% (22-47) in the game, 47% (7-15) from three-point area, and 9-12 from the free-throw line.  The Oriole defense forced 20 Quarrier turnovers in the game.

Rhett Kloth had eight points, seven rebounds, and five blocked shots.  Jack Henry also had eight points with three rebounds and five assists.  Brayden Pankonen had seven points, six rebounds, and four assists.  Tad Tjaden ended with seven points and four rebounds.  Camden Justice added six points, and Luke Randall had four points.
