Late Surge Sends Quarrier Boys to SoDak 16

The Dell Rapids Quarrier boys used a second half surge to send them to the SoDak 16.  The Quarriers defeated the Baltic Bulldogs 77-56 at home in the second round of the Region 3A Tournament on Friday, March 1st.

Both offenses shot well, and the first quarter ended with Dell Rapids leading 23-18.  Baltic played within a point of the Quarriers in the second quarter, and the Quarriers led 41-35 at halftime.  The Bulldogs were within four points, 47-43, with 4:00 to go in the third quarter.  Dell Rapids then went on an 11-0 run over the next two minutes for a 58-43 lead.  The Quarriers led 60-46 at the end of the quarter.  Baltic never got any closer than 13 points, 60-47, after a made free throw right away in the fourth quarter.

Dell Rapids finished the game shooting 46% (30-66) overall, 27% (6-22) on three-point shots, and 65% (11-17) from the free-throw line.  Baltic shot 44% (19-43) overall in the game, 29% (6-21) from three-point area, and 63% (12-19) from the free-throw line.

Jack Henry finished with 24 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and two steals.  Cole Ruesink added 16 points, five rebounds, five steals, and two assists.  Rhett Kloth had 12 points and eight rebounds.  Drake Eastman also had double figures with 10 points, four rebounds, three steals, and two assists.  Treyse Eastman had six points and four rebounds.  Tad Tjaden also had six points.
