“With 24 wrestlers on the mat this season and a handful of good young prospects, we are looking to battle hard and qualify eight-plus wrestlers to the state tournament with a top 15 finish,” said head coach Mike Gibson.

Tri-Valley’s season will start on Saturday, December 4th at the “Top of the Rock” tournament in Dell Rapids.

A Big Thank You from Us

November 24, 2021 by Matt Larson, Big Sioux Media

As we head into the Thanksgiving holiday, we at Big Sioux Media are thankful for so much.  It’s hard to believe that we are in our 10th year of operation.  When we look back at where we were 10 years ago, there is no way we would be at this spot without the great support of the community.

Ten years ago we were picking select games to stream once a week between the two schools.  We were forced into that due to limited cell phone signal and large computer setups.  Our quality was barely 480p, and we had a lot of streams that would drop signal.

Fast forward 10 years later, and we are streaming over 150 events a year between Dell Rapids and Dell Rapids St Mary schools, streaming in 720 HD (if not better), and do not miss too many games with signal issues.  We have been blessed to be able to upgrade equipment to make the broadcasts bigger and better.  We are getting over 175,000 hits to the website a year and over 350,000 page requests.  Our webcasts are hitting 2,000,000 viewer minutes a year.

Big Sioux Media started 10 years ago with businesses taking a chance on our vision and giving us a shot, and we are blown away by the support.  It has kept going by the great partnership with the schools and the people and businesses of the community supporting what we do.

We are beyond thankful for all the support and love.  The winter sports season is nearing, and we are excited to get rolling.  We just want to take a moment and say a huge THANK YOU to all of you for the love and support of Big Sioux Media.  We wish you and your family a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
