The West Central Trojan cross country teams are excited about the upcoming season.
The girls team finished second overall as a team at the state meet and had six runners compete. Brooklyn Sundermann placed eighth individually at the state meet. This year’s team has a roster size of 16.
“We are looking to have another great season. Everyone needs to improve during the season to replicate a season like last year. We are working hard and pushing ourselves and others to reach their potential,” said head coach Joe Caffrey.
The boys team was led by Peyton Tetzlaff, a senior this year, last season at the state meet with a second-place individual finish. The team as a whole placed 10th and had six runners compete at state. The boys team will have 15 runners this season.
“We are excited about this group to see what they are capable of doing this season. Peyton is a great talent, and his hard work is paying off. We have five senior boys that are all great leaders and hard working. We are working to best our 10th-place finish from last year,” said Coach Caffrey.
