The West Central Trojan football team cruised to a 55-7 win over the McCook Central/Montrose Cougars on Friday, September 13th.
The Trojans wasted no time putting points on the board. Karsen Wilde had a 56-yard touchdown run, and Caden Alfson had a four-yard touchdown run. Both extra points were made for a 14-0 lead after the first quarter. Alfson had an 82-yard touchdown, and Evan Jaton had a 17-yard touchdown in the second quarter. West Central led 28-0.
The Trojans added two more scores in the third quarter. Patrick Hammond had a five-yard run, and Alfson had another score, this time of six yards for increase the lead to 42-0. The Cougars scored their only touchdown in the third quarter on a 67-yard run. Dylan Bettcher and a 10-yard touchdown run, and Carter Gross had a 20-yard run to make the final score 55-7.
The Trojans finished with 452 yards of total offense, 92 passing yards and 360 rushing yards. McCook CentralMontrose had 206 yards of offense, 54 passing yards and 152 rushing yards. Alfson finished with three total touchdowns. Jaton had five tackles as did Hayden Whiting. Bennett Ingalls finished with three tackles.
