Trojan Softball Ready to Defend State Title in 2024

The West Central Trojan softball team is coming off a perfect 22-0 and 2023 South Dakota State A championship from a year ago.  This year’s team has four returning seniors ready to take on the leadership role for the Trojans.

Caitlyn Hoff and Emily Stofferahn will be two key pitchers for West Central.  Hannah Raethz will be a strong catcher, and Joss Nilson provides strong infield defense.  Underclassmen to watch this season include Ayla Kramer, Izzi Parsons, Kadence Lupkes, Elisabeth Miller, and Sophie Rolfson.

“We are looking forward to seeing our younger players make an impact.  All of these athletes are hard workers with a passion for the game.  We have some really good matchups ahead of us early in the season.  Strategy wise we’re looking to take one game at a time, stay focused on the small things, pu the ball in play, and play clean defense,” said head coach Heather Harden.

The Trojans are currently scheduled to host the Tea Area Titans on Thursday, March 28th, weather permitting.
