The West Central 16U team lost both games of a double header against the Brandon Valley Jr Legion on Saturday, July 8th.
Brandon Valley 10, West Central 3
After West Central scored a run in the top of the first, Brandon Valley got two runs in the bottom of the inning and three more in the bottom of the second for a 5-1 lead. They would tack on another run in the bottom of the fourth. West Central would get single runs in the fifth and sixth innings, while Brandon Valley scored two each in the fifth and sixth innings.
Keaton Vessells had a hit and an RBI. Carter Evans and Anthony Lanham each had a single. CJ DenBoer added an RBI. Landen Holewa pitched two innings and allowed five runs, three earned, on four hits and two walks with two strikeouts. Jericho Klein pitched two innings and allowed an unearned run on a hit and a walk with three strikeouts. Nick Lorang also pitched two innings and allowed four runs, two earned, on three hits and four walks.
Brandon Valley 4, West Central 3
West Central grabbed an early lead with two runs in the top of the first inning in the second game, but Brandon Valley would score the next four. They got a run in the second and another in the third to tie the game 2-2. Brandon Valley would break the tie with two runs in the bottom of the sixth. West Central rallied for one run in the top of the seventh, but could not get the tying run across home.
N. Lorang had a double with two RBIs. Zach Lorang had the other hit. Bubba Kono added an RBI. DenBoer pitched six innings and allowed four runs, three earned, on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts.
