Volga built a 4-0 lead and finished the game with a 13-3 win over West Central Gold 14U on Tuesday, June 27th.
Volga scored three runs in the top of the first inning and then another in the top of third for a 4-0 lead. Two runs scored on an error for West Central Gold in the bottom of the third. Chase Stromer also scored on a wild pitch to cut the lead to 4-3. Volga then scored the next nine runs, getting one in the fourth, five in the fifth, and three in the sixth.
Kane Grace had the only two hits for West Central, both of them doubles. Stromer had two RBIs. Carson Eich pitched two innings and allowed three runs, two earned, on three hits and a walk. Jacob Mallinger pitched three innings and allowed four runs, two earned, on two hits and three walks with four strikeouts. Noah Erickson pitched an inning and allowed six earned runs on two hits and five walks with one strikeout.
