West Central Blue 14U led 5-1 after two innings of play and completed the 7-2 win over Tri-Valley Maroon on Wednesday, June 14th.
Tri-Valley scored the first run in the top of the second after a scoreless first inning by both teams. West Central responded with five runs in the bottom of the second. Dylan Bettcher had an RBI single. Hayes Cain followed with a bases-loaded walk. Ashton Gebhardt added an RBI single. Taten Vanoverbeke also had a bases-loaded walk, and Eli Koehn had an RBI ground out for the five runs. Tri-Valley got another run in the top of the third to cut the lead to 5-2. Gebhardt scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the fourth, and Tanner Wagner scored on an error in the bottom of the fifth.
Gebhardt had three hits and an RBI. Koehn finished with two hits and an RBI. Bettcher added a single and an RBI. Cain and Vanoverbeke both had one RBI. Gebhardt pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs on three hits and a walk while recording 11 strikeouts.
