West Central Baseball Wins Fourth Straight

The West Central high school club baseball team won their fourth straight game after a 4-1 win over Sioux Falls Christian on Tuesday, May 9th.

Sioux Falls Christian broke a scoreless tie with a run in the top of the third.  They continued to lead 1-0 after three complete innings.  West Central took the lead in the bottom of the fourth.  Brayden Odegaard scored on an error, Connor Siemonsma had an RBI sacrifice fly, and B Jacobson had an RBI ground ball to give West Central a 3-1 lead.  Jesse Jost scored on a double play in the bottom of the fifth to extend the lead to 4-1.

Caden Alfson had a single and an RBI.  Deuce Sherard, Keaton Vessells, and B Herr all had a single each.  Siemonsma and Jacobson each had an RBI.  Owen Heath pitched five innings and allowed one earned run on two hits and five walks with 10 strikeouts.  Vessells pitched two innings and allowed three hits and a walk with two strikeouts.
