Trojans Win Final Regular Season Home Game

The West Central Trojan football team hosted the Lennox Orioles in their final regular season home game on Friday, October 14th.  West Central led from start to finish in a 38-16 victory.

Jesse Jost put the Trojans on the board with a one-yard touchdown run with 4:15 to go in the opening quarter.  The extra point attempt was no good, and the Trojans led 6-0.  Cambell Fischer added to the lead with a 23-yard field goal with 10:32 to play in the second quarter.

Lennox scored on a big special team play with 4:39 to go in the half.  The Orioles blocked a 30-yard field goal attempt and returned it for a touchdown.  West Central, however, pushed the lead to 10 points after a 67-yard touchdown pass from Justin Zirpel to Aiden Bartmann with 1:53.  The two-point conversion was made, and the Trojans led 17-7 at halftime.

Zirpel extended the lead with a 10-yard run with 8:28 to play in the third quarter.  Fischer made the extra point to make the score 24-7.  The Orioles got a 25-yard touchdown pass with 2:09 to go in the quarter.  The extra point was no good.

West Central put the game away with two more scores in the fourth quarter.  Zirpel had a two-yard touchdown pass to Owen Heath with 11:55 to play in the game.  Jost had a one-yard run with 7:32 left in the game.  The two-point conversion made the score 38-13.  The Orioles made a 40-yard field goal with 1:47 to play in the game.
