Tri-Valley Softball Wins First Game of Season

After a couple of postponements, the Tri-Valley Mustang softball team had their first game of the season on a chilly, rainy Friday afternoon on April 4th.  The Mustangs did not let weather bother them as they rolled past Lennox 15-0.

Tri-Valley scored in every inning of the game while holding Lennox to just one hit.  Izzy Davey got things rolling in the bottom of the first with an RBI single.  Keagan Kuchta brought home two runs, Danika Fluth had an RBI single, and Reagan Pearson had an RBI single for a 5-0 lead.  Mattie Huwe had a home run in the second inning to push the lead to 6-0.

The Mustangs added six more runs in the bottom of the third.  Kadence Davey had an RBI double, I. Davey added an RBI, bases-loaded walk, K. Davey scored on a wild pitch, and Emry Jones had a three-run home run for a 12-0 lead.  The game ended in the bottom of the fourth after the Mustangs scored three more times.  Rowyn Gacke had an RBI double, and K. Davey had a two-run home run.

K. Davey had three hits, a home run and two doubles, with three RBIs.  Huwe had two hits, one a home run, and an RBI.  Kuchta had two singles and an RBI.  Emery Pearson also had two hits.  Jones finished with a home run and three RBIs.  I. Davey ended with a single and two RBIs.  Gacke had a double and an RBI.  Fluth and R. Pearson both finished with a single and an RBI.  Peyton Vogt added a double.

Jones pitched two innings and allowed a walk with five strikeouts.  I. Davey also pitched two innings and allowed a hit with five strikeouts.
