Tri-Valley Baseball Splits Doubleheader with Howard

The Tri-Valley high school baseball team split a doubleheader with Howard on Sunday, April 26th.  Howard took the first game 6-5, but Tri-Valley won the second game 11-1.

Howard 6, Tri-Valley 5

Brody Dybvig drove home the first run in the top of the first to give Tri-Valley a 1-0 lead.  Howard scored three times in the bottom of the first to take a 3-1 lead.  The score remained 3-1 until the top of the fifth.  Cooper Durick tied the game with a two-run home run.  Mason Hemme scored on a wild pitch later in the inning, and Tristen Bunde had an RBI double to put Tri-Valley ahead 5-3.  Howard, however, scored three times in the bottom of the inning to get the win.

Durick had a home run and two RBIs.  Bunde had a double and an RBI.  Dybvig and Cole Hendrixson each had a hit as well.  Evan Focken pitched four innings and allowed four runs, three earned, on two hits and two walks with six strikeouts.  Durick allowed two unearned runs on three walks.

Tri-Valley 11, Howard 1

Tri-Valley bounced back with an 11-1 win in the second game.  Dybvig had two hits, one a home run, and three RBIs.  Focken had two singles with an RBI.  Bunde ended with a hit and two RBIs.  Durick finished with a double.  Hendrixson added a single and an RBI.
