Late Inning Rally Lifts Tri-Valley over West Central in Baseball Action

Tri-Valley broke a 2-2 tie with two runs in the top of the seventh to defeat West Central 4-2 on Wednesday, May 8th.

West Central held a 2-0 lead after scoring two runs in the bottom of the first.  Landen Holewa scored on an error, and Rayce Whiting had an RBI single.  Tri-Valley cut the lead in half after Treyson Richter hit an RBI sacrifice fly in the top of the third.  Alex Wingen tied the game with an RBI single in the top of the fourth.  The score remained 2-2 until the top of the seventh.  Nathan Madison hit an RBI single to center, and Richter also scored on an error to put Tri-Valley in front 4-2.  West Central got a two-out double from Caden Alfson, but he was unable to score.

For Tri-Valley, Madison had two hits and an RBI.  Everett Althoff and Tyler Groenewold both had two singles each.  Wingen and Richter each had a single and an RBI.  Hunter Foster also added a hit.  Landon Schenkel pitched 4 1/3 innings and allowed two earned runs on six hits and a walk with six strikeouts.  Tristen Bunde pitched 2 2/3 innings and allowed two hits with three strikeouts.

For West Central, C. Alfson had three hits, including a double.  Whiting finished with two hits and an RBI.  Brodie Herr, Keaton Vessells, and Gunnar Alfson all had one hit each.  Holewa pitched four innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on six hits and two walks with one strikeout.  C. Alfson pitched three innings and allowed two runs, both unearned, on three hits and a walk with four strikeouts.
