Colton Legion Falls at Home to Luverne

A late-inning rally was not enough for Colton as they fell to Luverne 11-7 at home on Monday, June 15th.

Denton Bicknase had an RBI single in the bottom of the first to put Colton in the lead 1-0.  Luverne tied the game, 1-1, with a run in the top of the second.  They would score four more runs in the third and three in the fourth for an 8-1 lead.  Luverne added one more run in the top of the sixth to lead 9-7.

Colton put together a rally in the bottom of the sixth.  Mason Hemme had a two-run double.  Alex Wingen drove home another run with a double to make the score 9-4.  Bicknase had a two-run single cutting the lead to 9-6.  Braxton Allen followed with an RBI sacrifice fly pulling Colton within two runs, 9-7.  Luverne got two runs back in the top of the seventh to push the lead to 11-7.

Bicknase had two hits and three RBIs.  Wingen finished with two doubles and an RBI.  Hemme added a double and two RBIs.  Cole Hendrickson had a double.  Brody Dybvig and Owen Effling each had a hit.  Allen ended with an RBI.

Hendrickson pitched 3 2/3 innings and allowed three runs, two earned, on four hits and two walks with two strikeouts.  Wingen tossed two innings and allowed five earned runs on five hits and three walks with two strikeouts.  Jackson Williams pitched 1 1/3 innings allowing three earned runs on three hits and four walks.
